How to Train Your Dragon The Hidden World

How to Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World

Born in the land of 3D, “How to Train Your Dragon 3” (“How to train your dragon 3”) has never really ignored the insipid business luster that accompanies it from the beginning. But almost a decade after it took off in 2010, these tapes have compensated for the lack of fire with enough sincerity and sense of wonder to sustain a peaceful but moving trilogy.

“How to Train Your Dragon 3: The Hidden World” (“How to train your dragon 3: the Hidden World”), takes the franchise to an end with an affectionate chapter that continues the adventures of the boy turned into the Viking boss Hiccup ( Hipo) and his faithful dragon Toothless (Chimuelo), an elegant black dragon of the type “nocturnal fury”.

In “The Hidden World”, the utopia that Hiccup created on Berk Island, where the Vikings once feared and fought against the dragons, is threatened by a mean dragon hunter named Grimmel, whose smile resembles a vampire with policies of violently retrograde coexistence.

“How to Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World”

Before the attack on Berk, Hiccup calls the Vikings to move and flee to an unknown mythical kingdom, the Hidden World, where dragons can live safely away from humans. The reaction feels exaggerated. As terrifying as Grimmel is, he is a lonesome, foolish villain, and the value of real estate in the hidden worlds is notoriously unpredictable.

Written and directed by the veteran of the series Dean DeBlois, “The Hidden World” may not shine because it is necessary; it is a story that lacks the risks of previous deliveries, which dealt meaningfully with the parents of Hiccup the discovery of one and the death of the other. But the billions of dollars collected together the first two films at the box office were enough to boost the franchise and bring “How to Train Your Dragon 3” back to action five years later (after the sale of DreamWorks to Universal).

“The Hidden World” has two compelling parts that validate it. The first is the scene of the courtship between Toothless and another dragon white night fury (presumably a female) that appears at the same time as Grimmel. Both rush and enrapture through the sky, flying under the light as a version of “La La Land” with dragons.

The second is the fantastic coda of the film, which jumps years ahead and adds a larger dimension, nostalgic and adult to what has always been, in the background, a story of a child and his pet.

“How To Train You Dragon 3” has done many things well along the way. He brought the great director of cinematography Roger Deakins to fan his rich Nordic atmosphere. (Deakins is accredited as a visual consultant in “The Hidden World”). And the series deserves credit also for building a story – adapted from the books of Cressida Cowell – around two unimpeded protagonists (Hiccup and Toothless) with prosthetic limbs.

Without much recourse to supporting characters, “How To Train Your Dragon 3” has always been based on the central duo and the meritorious lesson that animals, even those who spit fire, are not our enemies unless we turn them into it.

“How to Train Your Dragon 3: The Hidden World,” a Universal Pictures premiere, has a PG rating (suggesting some parent guidance) from the Motion Picture Association of the United States (MPAA) per share of adventure and some slightly rude jokes. Duration: 104 minutes. Two and a half stars of four.

The fans of the dragons and horned helmets are preparing to say goodbye to Hiccup and Toothless after almost a decade of knowing them with the third installment of How to Train Your Dragon, but they will not do it without enjoying a last adventure .

How to Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World is produced by DreamWorks Animations, the studio behind Shrek, Madagascar and Kung Fu Panda. The popular trilogy, based on the series of books by the British author Cressida Cowell, began in 2010 and four years later the second part was released. The third film opens in the United States on Friday, February 22 with a cast of voices that includes Jay Baruchel (Hiccup) and América Ferrera (Astrid).

In this installment Hiccup and his faithful friend, the toothless dragon, discover that this is not the only one of its kind. At the same time live the threats of Grimmel, a villain who seeks to catch all the dragons night fury, the type of Toothless.

The movie is not just a goodbye; It has a lot of adventure, suspense and romance. On the other hand, Hiccup continues to mature: after having appeared as a child in the first film, he is now an adult with problems that involve his entire community. But it does not stop showing an emotional side because, despite being the leader of his tribe, he has doubts, he even comes to mourn and he knows how to listen to others.

Hiccup realizes that to overcome the threat of Grimmel will need a lot of teamwork, so one of the central themes of the film is that the union is strength.
